"Fostering physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual  growth in a unique classroom experience that will ready children to reach their ultimate potential."

Salisbury Adventist School is accredited with the North American Division. Our school exists to show Jesus and His love to our students, as well as to teach them to think, to be creative, and to be successful in this life and in the life to come.

Our school is part of the worldwide Adventist school system, which includes elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities. Our schools and academics also require licensed educated teachers. Our teachers are constantly receiving training in areas of assessments, technology, and education.

We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of the life to come. To achieve this goal, we work with each student in a personal way. Our goal is to strengthen their physical, mental, and moral areas. We encourage each child to develop a relationship with God, to improve their social skills, to master fundamental academic skills, to improve their work ethics, and to value their talents and gifts.

Our subjects include mathematics, English language, science, technology, history, geography, civics, health, music, art, crafts, physical education, and Spanish.

Our teachers use creative ways of assessment both to evaluate each student’s performance and to create an independent learning environment that promotes responsibility and achievement.

Our school uses a standard-based learning approach.

Rules & Guidelines

Attendance: Our school operates Mondays-Thursdays from 8:00 A.M.-3:15 P.M. and Fridays from 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Students must be at the school 5 to 10 minutes before the school day begins and must be picked up promptly at the end of the day. To encourage learning, we ask that parents bring their child on time, as tardiness would interfere with his or her learning. For absences, please contact your child’s teacher immediately!

Uniform: We believe that the dress of an individual says a lot about the individual and the organization with which they are associated. Our school dress can be a constant reminder of the special nature of a private school that emphasizes in modeling Christian behavior. Salisbury Adventist School has uniforms for all grades and must be as follows:

1. Tops:  short or long-sleeved plain polo shirts with no logo (any color). A long sleeve t-shirt worn under the polo is allowed and may be any solid color. All sweaters or fleece must be a solid color. School provided t-shirts with the school logo will be worn on some field trips, such as track and field day, the corn maze visit, and outdoor activity days.
2. Bottoms:  pants, shorts, skorts, skirts, or jumpers, etc. must be khaki, gray, navy blue, or black (any fabric). Skirts, jumpers, shorts, and skorts should be no shorter than two inches above the top of the knee. Girls need to wear shorts or tights under skirts or jumpers. Jeans can be worn with the school t-shirt on field trips. Students can use gym shorts and bicycle shorts for P.E.
3. Footwear:  all footwear must have closed toes. No flip-flops, slippers, clogs, or beach sandals. Socks are required. Non-marking sole gym shoes are allowed for recesses and P.E. (Mondays and Fridays).
4. Hats & Sunglasses:  no hats/caps/hoods/sunglasses may be worn inside the school building. Students can use them on field trips.
5. Jewelry:  jewelry is not permitted, unless medically required.
6. Cosmetics/Hair Color:  if worn, make-up and nail polish should be natural in appearance. Used only with teacher’s permission. Fake nails are not allowed. Hair color should not be an unnatural color for the student.

***ATTIRE NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ANY TIME:  (1) Any clothing not covering the midriff. (2) At no time should undergarments be exposed. (3) Sagging and baggy pants are not acceptable; pants shall be worn securely at the waist. (4) Skin tight, form fitting clothing. (5) Tops with low necklines; there should not be any cleavage showing. (6) Visible tattoos and similar body painting(s) are prohibited or must be covered at all times. (7) No ripped, torn, or frayed clothing.***

Lunch: Students must bring their own lunch. Avoid sugary drinks, candies, junk food, and food with no nutrition values. Healthy meals improve the student’s health and learning. No unclean meats or fish. Our school offers vegetarian lunches on Wednesdays for $2.50 per student.

Physical Education: Our school offers physical education three times per week, providing opportunities for physical activities, exercises, and teamwork. We expect the students’ participation more than a competitive attitude.

Homework: Homework is the responsibility of the student. Spelling, math facts, Bible verses, and reading are expected every day. Work to be done at school cannot become homework unless assigned by the teacher or instructor.

Projects: Our school uses Project Base Learning, or PBL, to enhance the learning experience. Rubrics and guidelines will be given during the school year and according to the subjects.

Tests/Assessments: There are MAP mandatory tests scheduled during the school year. These are academic growth assessments that measure students’ progress. Results will be shared with parents and students.

Grades/Report Cards: The school year is divided into four quarters or two semesters; at the end of each quarter, the school sends home a report card to the parents. The report cards will have academic information, attendance, and character development.

Parent/Teacher Conference: Twice a year, parents are encouraged to meet the teacher to discuss their child’s progress and development. This is a tremendous opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues concerning their development. If parents want to meet the teacher outside these dates, kindly schedule a meeting time after school hours.

School Programs: Our school aims to prepare students for service to God and to humanity. To this end, students are encouraged to participate in community outreach programs. Students will have opportunities to share their talents with others. These spiritual activities bring the community together in a sweet fellowship and become a blessing to all participants. See the school calendar for more details.

Field Trips: Field trips will be announced as they come. Parents are encouraged to drive their child or carpool with other families. Permission slips are always required.

Week of Prayer: We live in a time that makes prayer a necessity. The week of prayer does not interfere with academics, but gives teachers and students the opportunity to come closer together to pray for each other, their families, and their neighbors.

Birthdays: We celebrate life in our school, so we welcome a cake and healthy goodies if you want to celebrate your child’s birthday during the lunch hour. Speak to your child’s teacher, please.

Communication: For better communication between school and families, teachers will send a text to all parents with relevant information and news for the following week. You may contact the teacher by text, they will answer as soon they have a break. Make sure you provide an email or cell phone number. Notes will be sent for specific events.

Privacy: Our school seeks to keep everyone’s character unstained; we encourage parents, guardians, and students to present any complaints or misunderstandings to the teacher immediately in a respectful manner, avoiding at all costs speaking negatively of others.
